Springdale Diamond Drilling has a history of training its own employees. This practice was born of necessity since drillers and helpers were initially in short supply. Today the company employs 21 drillers and 16 driller helpers, and of those the company trained 17 drillers and 16 helpers. Another important aspect of its training program took place in 2009 when Springdale Diamond Drilling partnered with Springdale Forest Resources, the College of the North Atlantic and the Qikiqtani Employment and Training Consortium to train ten Inuit participants from Igloolik, Nunavut, to become driller helpers.

Springdale Forest Resources Inc. also has an in-house trainer certified to teach:

  • Power Line Hazard Certification - WHSCC
  • Traffic Control Person - College of the North Atlantic
  • WHMIS - College of the North Atlantic
  • Fall Protection - College of the North Atlantic
